Early Childhood Education Around the World

I picked about four different countries to try and contact other early childhood educators, from the list given by the Global Alliance of NAEYC.  I am hoping that I will be able to get in contact with one of them, and am trying stay optimistic about that.  I didn't realize that there were so many educators around the world, and I think that is great!  So I am really keeping my fingers crossed that I hear back.  If not, then I will try and access the podcasts that were given to us in our class.  I am going to wait a few days though, I figure some of the countries may not have access to the internet on a regular basis.

As for the websites that we were able to choose from, I chose the Children Defense Fund in order to learn more about it, what its purpose is, and anything else I can find out.  I know it is about giving children a head start in life, and I would like to see the ways in which this program does that.

I have to say, I didn't realize there were so many websites and organizations around the world working towards helping our children.  Hopefully we can make a difference with everyone working together the way they are.

Shannon,

Good luck with your communications, hopefully you will hear back from someone soon!

Which countries did you choose?

I look forward to reading your posts about the Children Defense Fund. It sounded like a great organization.

Hi Shannon,

Have you heard anything from one of the countries. That was a great thinking on your part to contact numerous countries, just in case you did not hear back from two you still have other options. Was there any particular reason why you picked the countries that you picked? I look forward reading your blog throughout the remainder of this course!

Hi LaQuasia,

I just kind of went through and picked different countries. I'm interested in any of them if I can hear back! lol

Angela,

I chose UNICEF-Kenya; Ghana; Germany; and Haiti. I'm going to try and email a few more tonight. The one from Ghana came back undeliverable.

Hello Angela,
I have tried many different countries and no success in response. I hope you have a better outcome. Which countries did you try to connect with? I believe I tried at least fifty contacts. I have yet to receive a response. I didn't go through NAEYC though.
I have heard of the Children Defense Fund but I'm too familiar with them. I look forward to seeing what you find out.
